Degrees and Certifications
Cardiovascular Technology (Diploma Program)
This program is designed to equip the student with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to gain employment as a member of the cardiovascular team. Courses of study include medical law and ethics, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, vital signs, cardiovascular diseases and disorders, EKG concepts, EKG applications, Holler monitoring, and stress testing. In addition to the above topics, other areas to be fully examined will include phlebotomy, respiratory therapy assisting, and administrative skills. The combination of these subjects will equip the graduate with multiple skills in order to enhance employment opportunities. The graduates of this program are encouraged to sit for the certification examinations available to them.
Medical Assistant (Diploma Program)
The Medical Assistant Program is designed to equip the student with no previously related background with basic medical assistant skills (terminology, vital signs, venipuncture, First Aid) and specialized skills; EXG. Medical lab procedures, office procedures, etc.
Medical Billing (Diploma Program)
The Medical Billing program is designed to provide the student with the basic foundation of knowledge and skills in preparation for employment as qualified help to insurance and allied health industries. This program includes training and instruction in the fundamental areas of medical billing such as Medical Office Administration and Procedures, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Billing Forms. The student will also learn to use MediSoft computer software in billing and to schedule patient appointments using a computerized system.
Multi-Skilled Technician (Diploma Program)
Basic training for a Multi- Skill Health Technician is provided by the school?s 750- hour program. This program is designed to prepare students in all phases of cardiovascular technology, as well as phlebotomy by obtaining blood samples by capillary venipuncture of individuals. Multi- Skilled Health Technicians administer electrocardiograms as well as assist physicians with collecting and handling blood samples. They are also in various aspects of Patient Care.
Surgical Technology (Diploma Program)
This program is designed to prepare the student with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to gain employment as a surgical technician. Students will study all aspects within the field of perioperative environments, pharmacology, sterilization, anatomy and physiology, sterile technique, OSHA regulations, anesthesia, instrumentation, communication skills, medical terminology, and procedures within the medical specialties.
