The Radiologic Technology Education Programs at West Virginia University Hospitals primary mission is to facilitate the growth and development of the professional in the Radiologic Sciences. Through continued technological advancement and a strong commitment to education, West Virginia University Hospitals serves as the foundation on which students can cultivate and expand their knowledge of the technical, professional, and philosophical aspects of Radiologic Technology and the health care environment. The program strives to provide our students with an educational environment that is conducive to attaining positive learning outcomes and is comprehensive in providing clinical experience and patient care opportunities.

The Radiography program at West Virginia University Hospitals is a 2-year (24 month) certificate program offering comprehensive clinical and didactic education in Radiologic Technology. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Successful completion qualifies graduates as eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) certification exam in Radiography pending A.R.R.T review and approval.

The Radiology Department at WVUH utilizes the latest in imaging technology to provide a wide variety of diagnostic capabilities. Image acquisition is 100% digital utilizing a Fuji™ Computerized Radiography System and a GE™ Picture Archiving and Communication System for image display and archive. The main facility is located within Ruby Memorial Hospital with satellite imaging units located in the Physician's Office Center and the Cheat Lake Outpatient facility. Imaging equipment consist of 9 general radiographic units, 2 digital R/F units, 2-64 Slice and 1-32 Slice Toshiba Aquillon™ CT Scanners, and 3 Neuro, Vascular & Interventional Suites.
