Computer Networking (Diploma Program)
The Computer Networking program prepares students with the knowledge, the technical skills, and the work habits required for entry-level positions such as a Field Service Technician, Networking Administrator or Networking Technician relative to the microcomputer field. Students will gain a well-rounded knowledge of Microcomputer Networking Operating Systems, specifically Microsoft? Windows? 2000 and Novell? Netware?. This program includes both theoretical and hands-on applications of real-world situations related to various networking topologies, such as bus, ring, star, or hybrid. Hands-on installation, service, and support of microcomputers will be covered. Duties of position may include various configurations, upgrades, and repairs of microcomputers, and hardware and software configurations in a Windows 2000 environment.
Computer Support Technician (Diploma Program)
Program Description: Our Computer Support Technician Diploma can help you gain the knowledge and skills you need to search for entry-level employment in the computer support field. Through group discussions, lectures, and hands-on experience, you can learn about computer programs, hardware and software, and network systems. Don't miss your chance to develop the skills that could help you stand out in the job market.
Dental Assistant (Diploma Program)
The Dental Assistant program prepares students for entry-level positions as dental assistants in dental offices, clinics or lab environments, with the skills needed for advancement in the dental field, depending upon the student?s goals. The program teaches students how to assist a dentist and perform tray setups. Students have the opportunity to learn about patient care techniques, infection control and sterilization, medical emergencies, taking dental x-rays, making dental impressions, various dental instruments, oral evacuation, fixed prosthodontics, pharmacology and pain control and preventive dentistry.
Electrician (Diploma Program)
The Electrician program provides an understanding of the basic fundamentals of electricity and its practical applications, instructs the student in direct current and alternating current circuitry as well as teaches residential, commercial, and industrial wiring with specialized areas such as motors and motor control circuits, transformer installations. The student also receives gives an understanding of the National Electrical Code and how it applies to safe electrical installations. Students may use their skills in entry-level positions as electricians in new construction, additions, or restoration sites or may secure commercial or industrial maintenance positions. Graduates of this program may perform duties in a wide variety of residential, commercial, and industrial applications including the installation of electrical service, power, lighting, and special systems in new construction, dealing with the change-over from old systems to new in established buildings, handling additional electrical capacity to meet growth requirements of a building as well as conducting periodic maintenance and repair of the various systems and components in the building.
Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy (Diploma Program)
The Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy program prepares students to work as a medical assistant or phlebotomist, performing tasks such as administering injections, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, assisting in minor surgical procedures, performing basic accounting procedures and knowing the fundamentals of charting and documentation. Graduates may also perform venipuncture in an office, hospital, or laboratory situation. Prior to graduation, students are required to complete a 200?hour externship program at a local clinic, physician's office, hospital, HMO (Health Maintenance Organization), or other allied health facility.
Medical Assisting (Associate Degree)
The Medical Assisting program prepares students with advanced training in the administrative and clinical aspects of contemporary healthcare. The student is required to complete a 300?hour externship at a clinic, physician's office, hospital, or other allied health facility. Graduates of this program may provide a wide range of clinical and administrative duties, including: time management of staff, trouble-shooting for improving cost management, collecting and arranging data for travel and seminar activities, working in advanced phlebotomy and pharmacology, medical transcription and managerial skills.
Pharmacy Technician (Diploma Program)
The Pharmacy Technician program can prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for an entry-level position in the pharmacy field or related area. Graduates of this program work directly under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. General duties may include transcribing physician's orders and hospital charts; drug product selection; preparing medications for dispensing, labeling, and refill authorization; computer data entry for patient profile maintenance; and procedures for acquiring all necessary information. They also assist in quality management procedures and security measures. Other duties may include preparing unit dose medications, IV admixtures, and sterile irrigations.
