Medical Assistant (Associate Degree)
This program provides students with the skills necessary to be proficient in both front and back office procedures. Students receive hands-on training so that they are able to assist physicians in minor surgery, perform laboratory tests, assess vital signs, administer medication, operate an EKG machine, and perform other therapeutic modalities prescribed by physicians. Medical Assistants are employed in physicians? offices, medical clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and other health agencies.
Medical Assisting with Functional Spanish (Associate Degree)
Medical Coding Technology (Associate Degree)
This program is designed to train students to perform as part of the health information service team. Students use medical office software to enter data from the patient registration form and use classification systems to assign codes to diagnoses and procedures for insurance claims in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings. They will also maintain medical records and perform analysis of health records to validate compliance with regulations and standards. A high degree of accuracy and a working knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, and treatments are important skills for this profession. Employment opportunities include physicians? offices, clinics, inpatient care facilities, and insurance companies.
Medical Office Assistant (Diploma Program)
This program trains students to perform medical administrative front office duties that are vital in today?s healthcare field. It develops fundamental skills such as phone reception, word processing, medical record filing, appointment scheduling, light bookkeeping, and proficiency in medical practice software functions. Employment opportunities include all physicians? offices, clinics, med-checks, and virtually any healthcare setting.

Surgical Technology (Associate Degree)
This program is designed to provide students with an academic and clinical background in the field of surgical technology. Students develop the skills necessary to be a knowledgeable, professional and responsible member of the surgical team. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in a number of health care facilities including hospitals, medical centers, and public and private surgical centers.
Therapeutic and Clinical Massage (Associate Degree)
Therapeutic Massage Practitioner (Certificate Program)
This program teaches the necessary skills for applications and treatment goals of muscular and general relaxation, stress reduction, pain manage-ment, recovery from injury, health promotion, education, and body awareness. The successful practitioner must, therefore, be proficient at more than a simple massage; he or she must understand the body and its functions, master a variety of techniques, and hone such skills as client assessment, communication, and self-evaluation. Upon completion of this program, students may transfer all earned credits toward the Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworks associate of applied science degree program.
